In the meantime, here are five of our acne treatment solutions, to control inflammatory acne or reduce and remove acne scars.

Acne Treatment

chemical peel acne treatment

Acne is very common. Typically associated with pre-pubescent teens (thank-you, hormones), this common type of skin inflammation can be triggered by a multitude of causes at any age.

Symptoms can appear from puberty onwards, and causes can include but aren’t limited to: hormonal disturbances, genetic predisposition, stress, and general lifestyle factors. The cause of acne flare-ups can differ from person to person, which is why it’s vital to tailor your treatment to your skin’s specific needs.

Our expert, professional treatments for acne include:

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are credited for decongesting the skin, decreasing bacteria and minimising acne blemishes.

Our skilled skin specialists use medical grade chemical peels (so you know your skin is receiving the best possible treatment) tailored to your skin’s needs. You will see an improvement with our chemical peels as they gently smooth, clarify and brighten your skin while treating acne.

Usually, a minimum of two treatments is required to see results, and peels can be performed 2 weeks apart with minimal downtime.

LED blue light therapy

Blue light therapy differs from other acne treatment, as it specifically targets and subsides active acne with non-invasive light therapy.

The result is visibly more refined skin through treatment. Targeting within the skin’s cells to boost internal functioning and increase blood flow, LED blue light therapy optimises and accelerates the skin’s natural rejuvenation and healing.

Multiple treatments are required, depending on the severity of the acne. Because LED blue and red lights work together to combat the bacteria and inflammation associated with acne, we always recommend combining this treatment with chemical peels.

Dermatological consultation

Undertaken by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Jack Green, our specialist assessments give you the best, professional chance at achieving radiant skin.

As there is a wealth of different treatment options available to assist in helping you achieve clear, beautiful skin, our skin specialists consider your specific skin concerns before recommending a tailored treatment.

Acne scarring treatment and acne scar removal

needle acne scar treatment

Moderate to severe acne can occasionally cause damage to the surface and underlying layers of your skin, a scar is a permanent mark left on your skin after this damage, usually caused from an injury or disease.

Scarring can occur if you have a family history, or if you pick or squeeze your pimples. Our acne scarring treatments include:

RF infini microneedling

The double combination of micro needling and radiofrequency (RF) energy stimulates new collagen and elastin to improve scarring and overall skin texture. Minimally invasive, the treatment tightens skin, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, improves skin elasticity and targets acne scarring.

Results are usually seen after two treatments, but we recommend three to five for the best results, spaced 4 weeks apart.

Fraxel 1550NM

Using a laser wavelength, this treatment resurfaces the skin to improve tone and texture while accelerating new collagen and elastin formation. It’s specifically designed to treat deeper skin conditions, including acne scarring.

Three treatments are required for best results, although even one treatment will show visible results.

If you’re looking for a clearer, youthful, radiant look or want to know more about our acne treatments, acne scars treatments and the scar removal options offered at the Victorian Dermal Group, you can head to our website here or get in touch. We’d love to help.
