Most of us know that we should take care of our skin on a daily basis, but unfortunately, not everyone has a routine that will provide them with the best results.
We have taken the time to provide you with the eight of the most important considerations you should make when it comes to caring for your skin.
- Use the products made for your skin type
Make sure you use the right type of skincare products designed for your skin. Oily skin will have different needs to dry or combination skin.
- Look after the fragile places
There are parts of your face, like your eye contours and lips that are more fragile than the rest of the surrounding skin. Make sure that you use products specifically designed for these areas.
- Cleansing should be gentle
Removing your makeup should be your daily must-do. Just be sure to use a cleanser that’s pH balanced, so that it doesn’t damage your skin, while still removing all traces of makeup.
- Don’t underestimate exfoliation
Exfoliating your skin is just as important as removing your makeup, but should only be done once or twice per week. You should also make sure that you use an exfoliator that’s gentle on your skin and pH balanced, yet effective.
- Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise
It’s also essential to make sure that your skin stays moisturised throughout the day, and before you go to bed. Look for products that will balance the level of water in your skin, and consider using a moisturising mask, as needed.
- Try hypoallergenic makeup
Not everyone will be allergic to makeup, but if you experience even mild irritation, consider using makeup that’s guaranteed to keep you looking great, and protect your skin at the same time.
- Protect yourself from those UV rays!
UV rays pose some of the greatest risks for skin, and can age you prematurely, while also exposing you to much more serious conditions, like skin cancer. Make sure your makeup has an SPF feature, and apply it daily.
- Don’t let the stress get to you
Stress, smoke and other forms of pollution can have a detrimental effect on your skin. Try to avoid pollution, and remember that if you are experiencing too much stress, try relaxing exercises, or take a break every now and then.
