Laser resurfacing non-surgically improves your skin texture

Laser resurfacing strips away the superficial layers of your skin, and with them any scaring, discolouration, excess pigmentation, and inflamed or blocked tissue. You’re left with fresh, smooth, even-toned skin.

Large pores

Laser resurfacing is an excellent treatment for removing large pores across the face and neck. The treatment removes the surface layer of the skin where pores are largest, revealing the smoother layers beneath.

Loose skin

We often include laser resurfacing for skin-tightening treatment plans. While the lasers are highly effective at erasing fine lines and wrinkles, their deep-penetrating heat kickstarts your skin’s collagen and elastic production.

We often include laser resurfacing for skin-tightening treatment plans. While the lasers are highly effective at erasing fine lines and wrinkles, their deep-penetrating heat kickstarts your skin’s collagen and elastic production. These proteins restore your skin’s elasticity and structure, leaving you with youthfully supple and firm skin.

Deep wrinkles and scars

Our precisely calibrated lasers can safely penetrate the deepest layers of your skin to dramatically improve the appearance of scars and lines, especially over multiple sessions.

Laser resurfacing is one of our most effective treatments for deeply etched scars and wrinkles, such as forehead stress lines and ‘smoker’s lines’ around the mouth. Our precisely calibrated lasers can safely penetrate the deepest layers of your skin to dramatically improve the appearance of scars and lines, especially over multiple sessions.

Meet your specialists

Our qualified dermal team specialise in a range of non-surgical skin resurfacing treatments, our laser therapies being only the tip of their capabilities. Their expertise is equalled by their warmth, and they welcome clients of all ages, genders, backgrounds and gender identities.

How does skin laser resurfacing work?

We offer three types of laser resurfacing treatments, each with unique benefits.

  • The Candela Vbeam | This deep-penetration laser is our preferred solution for vascular conditions like blocked capillaries, skin-reddening conditions like rosacea, and deeper wrinkles across the face and neck.
  • Fraxel fractional lasers | Fractional laser resurfacing is a precisely targeted treatment that can break up pigmentation clusters and boost collagen. It’s ideal for blotchy and sun-damaged skin.
  • Clear + Brilliant | The gentlest of our lasers, this treatment only clears the topmost layers of your skin to remove imperfections, dead and dry skin, and clogged pores. It’ll leave your skin healthy and glowing.

Your dedicated clinician will recommend the best laser resurfacing treatment to suit your goals.

The Tech

Preparing your skin for laser treatment

Your clinician will give you specific preparation instructions to follow at your initial consultation. These instructions will help ensure you get the best possible results and will also help to mitigate any side effects. Our instructions will include:

  • Avoid heavy sun exposure and fake tanning (UV bed or chemical).
  • Avoid waxing, shaving or using a depilator on the treatment area.
  • Arrive at your appointment with clean skin, free of any product or makeup.

Preparation

Laser resurfacing sessions last approximately an hour

Here’s how your session will run:

  • We will begin by reviewing your treatment plan to ensure you understand precisely what we will do, why, and what results we hope to achieve.
  • We will then clean the skin around your treatment area and apply a numbing cream to minimise discomfort.
  • Following the procedure, we will ask you to remain for a brief period to monitor for adverse effects.

On The Day

Laser resurfacing aftercare and downtime

Your fresh skin will be quite sensitive during the week following your laser treatment. You will have to care for it diligently as it settles and heals.

  • Avoid heavy sun exposure. We recommend wearing SPF 50+ sunscreen.
  • Moisturise regularly using Hydra Factor K cream.
  • Avoid alcohol.
  • Avoid blood-thinning medications.
  • Avoid intense exercise, especially swimming in chlorinated or saltwater pools.
  • Bathe in warm water, not hot water. Avoid steam rooms and saunas.

5-star non-surgical skincare

Laser treatments, chemical peels, ultrasound therapies, contouring injectables — our medical team specialise in a range of minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation treatments.

Laser face resurfacing is perfectly safe

Under our trained and qualified supervision, laser treatments can be safely used to target the sensitive skin across your face and neck. We’ll take every precaution necessary to ensure your comfort and safety.

Eyelid and crow’s feet

We can use laser treatments to lift and tighten sagging eyelids and remove fine wrinkles and capillaries.

Eye bags and wrinkles

Laser treatment is extremely effective at brightening dark circles around the eyes.

Forehead lines

Deep-penetration lasers can dramatically reduce the appearance of static forehead stress lines and vertical ‘11’ lines between your brows.

Lip lines

The soft skin of the lips is particularly sensitive, but our superficial laser treatments are still gentle enough to effectively remove fine lines around them.

Nose wrinkles and pores

Laser resurfacing is one of our more popular remedies for blocked and large pores on the nose and around the nostrils.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does laser resurfacing work on darker skin tones?

The darker the skin tone, the less precise laser treatments become. Our lasers work by agitating clusters of melanin (skin pigmentation) and causing them to break up so your body can safely metabolise it. The lasers can target blotches and moles because of the contrast between the hyperpigmented spots of skin and the lighter surrounding tissue. However, the less contrast there is, the less effective the treatment.

When used on darker skin, the energy of the lasers can be absorbed by the desired melanin in untargeted areas, creating unwanted streaks of lighter skin.

How many laser resurfacing sessions will I need?

The number of laser resurfacing sessions you need will vary depending on the particular skin condition we’re treating and the results you hope to achieve. While you will see significant results after a single session, you may desire or require further appointments.

At your initial consultation and during your post-treatment follow-up, your doctor will advise you on whether you need additional treatment.

Does laser skin resurfacing hurt?

Our clients have likened laser pulses to the feeling of a rubber band being gently snapped against their skin. They describe it as unpleasant but not unbearable. However, we can apply an anaesthetic cream to the skin around the treatment area to minimise your discomfort.

The week following your procedure, your skin will be tender and sensitive to touch and sunlight. You may experience minor redness, swelling and itching as your skin heals. We recommend you gently massage your skin with a cold press and take pain-relief medication.

Is laser resurfacing permanent?

No, the effects of laser skin resurfacing treatment are not always permanent. But this depends on what conditions we are treating. For example, you can prevent blocked pores and capillaries by caring for your skin appropriately. However, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation blotches are likely to return with time.

Chemical peel vs laser resurfacing: which is better?

Chemical peels and laser treatments are not better or worse than one another. It’s more helpful to consider which one would be more appropriate for your skin type and the results you want to achieve.

Lasers allow for extremely targeted treatments, removing specific defects like scars, moles and skin imperfections without affecting the surrounding tissue. They can also penetrate deeper levels of skin tissue.

Chemical peels are not a targeted treatment and are applied to general areas. We do offer superficial and deep chemical peels, though our deeper peels may not penetrate deep enough to effectively mitigate all skin conditions.

Our doctors will help you to determine what type of treatment will be best for you.
