Nasolabial folds treatment

Nasolabial lines (also known as laugh lines) are the C-shaped creases around the edge of your mouth. They run from your nostrils to the edge of your chin, typically appearing when you laugh or smile broadly. 

The shape and prominence of nasolabial folds differ from person to person. We can tailor our nasolabial fold treatment to suit your unique features.

• Fine nasolabial folds typically appear on those in their 20s and 30s. They tend to appear during exaggerated facial expressions and disappear when the face is static.
• Deep nasolabial folds appear as we age and our skin loses its supple elasticity. These laugh lines can stay etched in the face even when it’s static.
• Asymmetrical nasolabial folds occur on only one side of the mouth. A fold like this is typically the result of an asymmetrical smile. 

At your consultation, your dedicated doctor will assess the severity and cause of your smile lines and recommend the best course of treatment.

Our injectable procedures are minimally invasive and require equally minimal preparation. At your consultation, we’ll give you a few easy-to-follow instructions you’ll need to follow for the week before your appointment. These instructions will include:

• Avoid skin treatments, such as laser treatments or chemical peels. Having clear, clean skin will help mitigate the risk of adverse reactions.
• Avoid activities or substances that thin your blood or significantly increase your heart rate. These include exercise, alcohol and certain medications. This will prevent excess bleeding and bruising from the injections.

Prioritising safety doesn’t mean we lose sight of efficiency. Depending on your treatment plan, you can expect your session to run for approximately an hour and a half — possibly less. You likely won’t require any rest time following the procedure, so you should be able to return to work or any other commitments following your procedure.

Here’s how the day will run:

• Your doctor will review the session agenda with you. They’ll explain the injection process and address any concerns you may have.
• We will cleanse your face of the day’s sweat and grime, and apply a numbing cream to minimise your discomfort.
• We’ll complete the procedure.
• Afterwards, we’ll ask you to wait for a brief monitoring period to ensure you don’t have any adverse reactions. Then, you’ll be free to leave.

Our highly tolerable and skin-safe serums should settle into your skin quickly and easily. However, you will likely experience mild itchiness and redness around the injection points — this is to be expected and should alleviate within 3-4 days.

• Keep your skin clean for 3-4 days. Use plenty of sunscreen and moisturiser. We recommend using Hydra-vital light moisturising gel cream. 
• Avoid putting too much pressure on your face. Do not sleep on your face.
• Continue to avoid alcohol, exercise and blood-thinning medication for at least four days.
