Temple hollows are exactly what they sound like — concave indents over the temple area, between your outer brow and ear.
There’s no one cause for hollow temples. For some, it’s simply a genetic quality. For others, sudden weight loss, dehydration or an active lifestyle can cause them to lose volume across the face. For most, though, volume loss in the temple (and other areas of the face) is simply part of the natural ageing process.
Whatever the cause, temple hollowing can leave the upper face with an aged, gaunt appearance. If you’re sunken temples are sinking your self-confidence, we may be able to use dermal fillers to restore your full-faced, youthful appearance.
We treat temple hollows by injecting pure hyaluronic acid fillers into the dermis of the hollow area. We precisely calibrate the injection to ensure the final result is symmetrical, smooth and aesthetically pleasing.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an exceptionally safe substance with an extremely low-risk factor. The substance is actually produced naturally by your body as a tissue moisturiser and lubricant. Your body’s ability to produce the substance can be inhibited by various factors (including age and lifestyle), resulting in sagging, sallow skin. Our HA injections restore your skin’s suppleness and elasticity.
We do not require you to undergo any significant preparatory treatments before your session. At your consultation, we’ll give you instructions on keeping your skin clean and clear to reduce the risk of adverse reactions or bruising and help you heal quicker. Our instructions will include:

For 3-4 days after your treatment session, the skin of your temples will feel plump and tight. This won’t be painful; depending on your tolerance, it may only be minimally unpleasant. However, it will quickly alleviate as the filler settles into the tissue.
Temple fillers can last 1-2 years. Over time, your body will metabolise the hyaluronic acid in the fillers. The more movement and pressure your temples undergo, the quicker the metabolisation. As your fillers deplete, we can schedule another session to fill them back up again.
Injectable procedures do carry a risk of redness, swelling and itching around the injection site. There is also a minute risk of filler migration (where the filler leaks away from the treatment area). Under our licensed care, we can bring these risks down to a vanishingly small point.
