Upper eyelid filler injections

One of the most prominent fat pads surrounding the eyes lies between the eyebrow and the upper eyelid. As this pad diminishes with time, the wrinkling skin collapses over the eyelid.

One of the most prominent fat pads surrounding the eyes lies between the eyebrow and the upper eyelid. As this pad diminishes with time, the wrinkling skin collapses over the eyelid. This can give the eye an exaggeratedly exhausted, aged appearance. A carefully-placed eyelid filler injection will add volume back to this sensitive area, pulling back the wrinkle and giving the eyes a fresh and engaged expression.

Eye dermal fillers for dark circles and eye bags

Sunken and baggy eyes are caused by depleting fat pads beneath the skin under the eye. Volume loss is an effect of ageing but is also exacerbated by stress and lifestyle factors.

Sunken and baggy eyes are caused by depleting fat pads beneath the skin under the eye. Volume loss in these fat pads is an inevitable effect of ageing but is also exacerbated by stress, sun exposure and other lifestyle factors. The sinking of this under-eye region can also give the impression of dark rings encircling the eye. Our dermal fillers for dark circles and eye bags plumpen and tighten the skin with hyaluronic acid, thus smoothening out the wrinkles.

What are dermal fillers for under-eye wrinkles?

Under-eye dermal fillers primarily consist of hyaluronic acid. Don’t be concerned by the acidic name — this substance is produced naturally by your body, which uses it as a lubricant, moisturiser and balm for wounds and scars.

We gently inject precise amounts of hyaluronic acid beneath the targeted skin to lift wrinkles under and around the eyes. Your body will readily accept the substance, which will not only smoothen your wrinkles but also soften your skin and return its youthful elasticity.

How It Works

Who needs dermal fillers under the eyes?

Although eye wrinkles like crow’s feet are typically associated with ageing, the truth is that they can affect anyone from their twenties onward. As you may already know, ageing isn’t the only factor that determines the health of our skin.

Stress and a lack of sleep can leave us with dark circles and bags beneath our eyes. Excessive sun exposure without proper protection, and even air pollution, can wrinkle, clog and mottle the skin around our eyes and face. Your wrinkles may simply be caused by your genetic makeup.

Whatever the cause of your under-eye wrinkles, crow’s feet, dark circles or bags, we will help you without judgement. As long as you leave our care feeling confident in your skin, we’ll count our mission accomplished.

Who It’s For

Preparing for your eye filler treatments

It takes a week to prepare for injections for wrinkles around the eyes. However, the preparation is effortless to follow.

  • One week before the appointment: stop using skin treatments and creams. These include exfoliation treatments and chemical peels.
  • 48 hours before the appointment: stop exercising and cut out all alcohol. Increased blood flow increases the chances of post-procedure bruising and puffiness.
  • 24 hours before the appointment: stop drinking alcohol or taking any blood-thinning medication, such as aspirin. This is to avoid excess bleeding and bruising.

We will give you all the details you need to prepare for a safe and successful treatment during our initial consultation.

Preparation

Trust us; you’re in good hands

Our highly trained medical experts will ensure your procedure runs smoothly in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. The day will run as follows:

  • You will arrive wearing no makeup or moisturising creams on your face.
  • Our specialists will begin your procedure by applying a numbing cream around your eye. The local anaesthetic will dull any pain from the injections.
  • The proper under-eye and tear trough treatment begins with hyaluronic acid injected into the surrounding fat pads.
  • After the injections have been completed, we will begin a brief monitoring period to ensure no significant swelling occurs and that the filler has settled well.

And with that, your under-eye, crow’s feet and tear trough treatments are complete.

On the day

We’ll ensure your under-eye dermal fillers give you the results you want

To give your injections the best chance of healing without excessive swelling and bruising, they must be given special care for the first 24 hours after the treatment.

  • Do not consume alcohol or anti-inflammatory medication.
  • Light swelling is natural. Gently massage these areas with a cold pack.
  • Minor bumps in the filler are natural. Gently massage uneven patches with a clean cloth till they are even.

Our office is always happy to give you further advice and assuage any concerns you may have after your treatment. Call or email our team, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do eye dermal fillers hurt?

No. Our medical team will treat the injection points with an anaesthetic cream before the procedure. So all you will feel is a slight pressure.

It is perfectly natural to cringe at the thought of an injection anywhere near your eye. But rest assured that we are among Melbourne’s leading aesthetic clinicians for a reason, and your comfort is as much our priority as the final result.

How long do dermal fillers under the eyes last?

You can expect under-eye dermal fillers to last for 6-12 months. This is because the facial fat pads where the injectables are placed do not experience much stress, allowing the hyaluronic acid solution to remain as intended.

How much does under-eye and tear trough filler cost in Melbourne?

The cost of your dermal filler will depend on a few factors, such as how many ml of filler you require. We will discuss these factors at your initial consultation, after which we can provide you with a quote.

Where is tear trough filler injected?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are injected into the fat pads just beneath the trough to remove or lessen tear troughs. Filling this pad lifts the skin and pulls the trough crease taught.

We never inject filler directly into the trough because the region beneath the tear trough skin is not ideally suited to holding the injected filler. In fact, filler injections into this region can be dangerous if not handled by an experienced physician.

What must I know before getting under-eye dermal fillers?

We'll need to conduct the initial consultation before making any decisions. Getting work done under the eyes depends on many variables — age, skin type, diet, lifestyle, genetics, etc. It's not a one-size-fits-all scenario.

Usually, we'll treat the cheeks and side of the eyes to draw attention away from the area beneath your eyes. We never fill in teardrops or anywhere near the teardrops due to potential complications.

After my eye filler treatment, will I be able to sleep on my face?

We recommend not sleeping on your face for at least two nights after your eye filler treatment. If possible, avoid putting any pressure on your face for at least a week.

Avoiding stomach and side sleeping will allow the injections to heal optimally and let the filler settle evenly.
